Gift Ideas for the Handyman in Your Family

Gift Ideas for the Handyman in Your Family

December 18, 2018

Christmas is fast approaching and with only a few days left for gift buying, some of us stress over finding that great gift for the family man that seems to have everything. (I stress over what to get my dad EVERY YEAR.) Below, I've put together a list of ideas that may help you find the perfect present to put under the tree...or in his shop.

1. Black+Decker Robo-Bit

This powered screwdriver is a great gift for anyone who has trouble with regular screwdrivers. It's 4V Lithium power holds a charge for up to 18 months! It also includes eight bits, an LED light to help you see in those dark spaces, and an on-board magnet that holds extra screws. You can find this bad boy on Amazon for $20-$25.

2. Wireless Tunes

The M18 Jobsite Radio/Charger by Milwaukee allows you to tune into your favorite music station through the phone in your pocket. If you need your phone on you, it has a Bluetooth receiver that can wirelessly stream audio from over 100 ft away. It does, however, have a weather-sealed compartment that offers protection for your smartphone and other small items. The built-in charger can quickly power up ALL Milwaukee M18 Lithium-Ion batteries and the reinforced roll cage and metal handles offer extra protection against abusive jobsite conditions.

3. Wixey Digital Angle Gauge

Technology can be fun and very useful at times. This digital gauge can save you lots of time when trying to adjust your saw's angle. After setting the magnetic base on your blade and squaring up the blade to the table, you then push the zero button to calibrate it. Once that is done, you can adjust your blade as you see fit. You can find this cool gadget on Amazon for $126.00.

4. MagnoGrip Magnetic Wristband

This wristband is the solution for keeping track of the tiny nails, screws, and washers that are so easy to lose on a project. This one-size-fits-all item is made of durable ballistic polyester and is perfect for any home-improvement or do-it-yourself junkie. You can find it on Amazon for $7.75.

5. The Worst-Case Scenario Survival Handbook: Man Skills

This survival handbook brings new and classic advice together to help that manly man in your life learn valuable things...things such as how to wrestle an alligator or how to calm a crying child or how to put out that backyard barbecue fire that got out of hand. The book also comes with a searchable DVD that contains all of the contents in the book as well as a few extras. You can order this life necessity here for just under $15.

6. Bosch 12-Volt Max Cordless Jig Saw with Exact Fit Insert Tray

A great gift for any worker of construction, this 3.3 pound saw is the lightest on the market. It has an adjustable footplate for bevel cuts up to 45 degrees and has a counterbalanced low-vibration plunge mechanism. You can add this to his tool bag for right around $100.

7. Timberland PRO Boondock Comp-Toe Waterproof Work Boots

These nice looking boots are made of premium waterproof leather with waterproof membrane to keep your feet extra dry. It has a lightweight, non-metallic toe cap that meets US and Canadian safety standards. You can find them here.

8. Defender Cases

A construction site is a tough place and accidents can happen, especially to not-so-sturdy smart phones. Give your handyman a phone case as tough as he is. Otterbox's Defender cases are equipped with four layers of protection. As a plus, the case has a belt clip, which is handy for...well...for your handyman.

9. Quell

Quell is a FDA-approved treatment to help ease chronic pain around the clock and is drug-free. It's designed for people with nerve pain, back pain, fibromyalgia, and arthritic pain among other chronic pain conditions. Quell sends neural pulses to the brain, triggering a natural response that blocks pain signals in the body for chronic pain relief.

10. The Halo Light

If your construction worker spends time on the job when the sun isn't up, whether its late evenings to finish a project or very early mornings to pour a foundation, the Halo Light can make their job much easier as well as provide extra protection. This helmet attachment shines a bright, 360-degree light, allowing your loved one to be seen by others as well as offering hands free illumination so they can provide quality work. See more here.
